Privacy Policy

Ozym is built to respect your attention, and that extends to your data. We collect only what we need to sign you in, take your subscription, and run the service — and nothing that profiles you or tracks what you read.

The short version

• We store your email address and a sign-in identifier, so you have an account.
• Payments go through Google Play; we only ever learn your subscription status, never your card details.
• No tracking pixels, no advertising IDs, no behavioural profiling, and no analytics on what you read.
• You can delete your account and data yourself, any time, from inside the app.

Who we are

What we collect

Your email address

Used to sign you in and to send account and service messages (for example, your one-time sign-in code). Ozym never emails you the digest — the app is the only place to read it.

A sign-in identifier

We use Supabase Auth to manage sign-in. We store a Supabase user ID that represents your account. If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google confirms your identity to us and shares your email address and name; we never receive your Google password, your contacts, or any other Google data.

Subscription status

When you subscribe, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your card or payment details. Our subscriptions provider, RevenueCat, tells our server your subscription status (trial, active, or expired), which plan you bought, and an identifier that maps to your Ozym account — just enough to know whether to unlock the digest.

Minimal technical data

Our servers keep basic operational logs (such as request timing and errors) to keep the service running and secure. These are not used to build a profile of you or your reading.

What we deliberately don’t collect

• No tracking pixels and no third-party advertising — Ozym has no ads, ever.
• No advertising identifiers, device fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking.
• No analytics on what you read, tap, or how long you stay. There is no engagement tracking because the product is designed against it.
• No location data and no access to your contacts, photos, or files.
• We never sell your data. There is no one to sell it to, and no reason to.

Data that stays on your device

Your highlighted words and muted words are stored only on your device. They are never sent to our servers, so they are visible only to you and are removed when you uninstall the app.

Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate Ozym, each handling only what its job requires:

• Supabase — account sign-in and our database.
• Google Play and RevenueCat — subscriptions and billing.
• Vercel — hosting for our backend and this website.
• Resend — delivery of account and service email (for example, your sign-in code).

The digest itself is generated by AI over public news articles from our source outlets — that process does not involve your personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we remove it (see below). Separately, and as a matter of product policy, the text of ingested news articles is pruned 60 days after ingestion — Ozym is a synthesis layer, not a content archive.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account yourself at any time: open the app and go to Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, your email address, your sign-in identifier, and your subscription records from our systems. Deleting your Ozym account does not cancel an active Google Play subscription. To stop billing, also cancel the subscription in your Google Play account.

Children

Ozym is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Where data is processed

Ozym is operated from Canada, and some of our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. By using Ozym you understand your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Ozym after a change means you accept the updated policy.
